I couldn’t agree more with this article on SocialMediaExaminer.com. It is very frustrating to have to search for the price of items on a website, and then find out that many times there are no prices listed.
I find this a common problem on fashion and apparel designers’ websites that don’t have shopping carts. Don’t be scared to list a recommended retail price – you can set it at the high end (2.6X over wholesale) so you won’t show up your retailers. People want to know how much things cost. You will be doing your customers a favor when they go looking for your stuff in stores.
If you are wholesaling and you don’t want to reveal your wholesale prices to the public, include a secure password-protected section on the website for retail buyers to access.
